Reporting Experience

News, Sport and Entertainment

While at university I completely fell in love with reporting. No matter the subject - I’ve caught the journalist bug and live for the chase of the story in news, entertainment and sport. During my postgraduate studies, I had the opportunity to gain work experience at 9 News Perth and 10 News First Perth. I’ve also had the opportunity to shadow at ABC Perth News and report for ECU News, GWN 7 News special coverage of the Perth Royal Show and host the overnight “Big Night In” for Telethon 2021.

For Perth's Telethon, I was the only one in my class to chase, produce, present, write and edit a package with a gold-medal winning Paralympian, who had previously been a beneficiary of the charity. Due to WA's tough quarantine regulations, I had one opportunity to film with him and it was just a day and a half before the telecast's deadline. I edited until 3am, submitted the package and then came to uni later that morning to present a live tv show.

Producing Experience

News and Entertainment

During my time studying in the United States, I worked for WTOP-10 - a student-run television station for the county of Oswego NY. I produced live newscasts, game shows, volleyball and hockey games, and original productions both in a live and pre-recorded environments. As the acting Executive Nightly New Producer from 2019-2020, I produced two to three live nightly news broadcasts a week with the assistance of my producers and assistant producers. Below you can find all the newscasts I have produced, along with my producing reels.

UniSport Western Series Week Broadcast

2020

Since returning to Australia from SUNY Oswego, I haven't had the sports broadcasting opportunities available to me that I had while working at WTOP-TV 10. So I decided to fix that dilemma!

During mid-semester break, the UniSport Western Series tournament was hosted at our various universities in Perth. With the help of Kyla Devine at ECU Sports, I was able to form my own small media team of producers and reporters to cover the week-long event.

After long days of filming game footage, interviews, editing and most importantly charging batteries we were able to create a four-episode showcase of the tournament. UniSport Australia aired our episodes over the next few days on their social media platforms.

Thank you to everyone who supported me in this passion project and to my amazing producer/reporter friends Harry Hawker, Amber Wilkinson and Brianna Melville who gave up their mid-semester break to be a part of this team.
